In the wee hours of Sunday morning, he got the call.  A donor heart had been found!  :) 

He started keeping this blog http://www.chernicoff.us/blog/ to update his family and friends on his health, etc. Go check it out - he explains what caused the heart failure, etc. 

It feels wrong to be happy that he has a new heart and is doing well.  Someone had to die for him to have this heart and his mother says the only thing she knows about the donor is that he was younger. Sad.  But Happy.  I can't imagine how he must feel.  I would need therapy - at least for a while.  It must be a really strange feeling to have someone else's heart beating in your chest, keeping you alive.  But I bet it gives you an amazing renewed view on life.  Maybe I've seen too may scary Asian movies on Sundance (Sunday nights they play an Asian Horror movie at midnight) - I think I would feel the soul of the deceased was haunting me.
